Like many people I love pictures, it brings memories or sparks inspiration. I wanted to share a photo every week that I love and share tidbits about that photo, hence “Picture of the week”.

My friend Suzy from work took this picture and I instantly loved it. Some may look at this and say it’s skyscrapers and water, it’s no big deal. Take a moment and look closer and let your mind wander a bit. Look at the cloud splattered sky, what do you see? My kiddos say they see either a bird or a flying squirrel to the right of the buildings. Do you see the reflections of the skyscrapers in the water? Do you see the differences in the buildings themselves? The bridge going over the river and the trees too, do you see? Sometimes we just need to stop and take a look around us, I know this is just a snapshot but one snapshot can hold a lot of details, it’s up to us to decide what we will see.

Have you guessed where this was taken? If you guessed downtown Tampa, you would be correct. This is just a glimpse of the beautiful city of Tampa. There is so much to see and do here, we are still exploring and we’ve been here 3 years if that tells you anything. If you’ve never been to Tampa consider it as a destination when you come to Florida, you won’t be disappointed. Wondering what are some of the activities Tampa has to offer? Here’s a few suggestions:

  • Lowry Park Zoo
  • The Florida Aquarium
  • Busch Gardens
  • Adventure Island (water park)
  • MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry)
  • The Straz Center of Performing Arts
  • Tampa Riverwalk
  • rent bikes and ride along Bayshore right by the water
  • and my favorite, the beaches that are a hop, skip, jump away – Clearwater, St. Petersburg just to name a couple

This is just the tip of the activity list for Tampa. If you go to https://www.visittampabay.com/things-to-do/ you’ll find more things to do here.  As I’ve said you will not be disappointed so go ahead and put Tampa on your bucket list. If you have been here before leave a comment to tell us what your favorite activity you’ve done.
