Do any of you enjoy visiting a restaurant you’ve never been to? My husband and I love trying out restaurants that we’ve never been to. Sometimes we are lucky and love the place or sometimes we put it on the list to not return. This particular place got placed on our love list.

After our visit to the ‘Art of the Brick’, we decided to continue our adventures at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. This is where the famous dolphin Winter is located. We were only able to get a glance because she was resting. Wait, I’m getting sidetracked…sorry!

Who wouldn’t be hungry after a day of adventures, right?! Lo’ and behold there’s a restaurant within walking distance (next to the aquarium parking garage). The name of the place is Island Way Grille, intriguing right?

As soon as the kids reached the doors, they looked at me and said, “MOM, this place looks fancy!” It indeed did appear fancy with it’s glass doors and a hostess opening the door for us. I asked the hostess if what we were wearing was ok due to the fact it looked that fancy. She smiled big and said we were just fine and seated us quickly. As you can see by the picture we had a table by the window and this was our view. I absolutely loved it!

I’m not going to lie there is a sense of leeriness of trying new places when we have the kids with us. I don’t know about your children but mine are pretty picky when it comes to food at restaurants. Two of my kids ordered steaks (and don’t worry Aunt Kelly we ordered it right, wink-wink) and one ordered a cheeseburger, and they all came with french fries. They were only able to eat half of their food so of course we get the take home box because nothing can go to waste, right? I honestly did not have high hopes that they would be eating the left overs the next day but to my surprise they did! Yes! I call that success!

You may be wondering about the prices, I’m going to tell you regardless. I have to say the prices were great considering we got soup or salad, dinner, and even dessert all for $14.95. The kids were five dollars if I remember correctly. Our waitress told us we came at the right time because those prices are the “early” dinner prices. I never knew there were places that actually had that. 🙂

The kids tell us that is one of their favorite nice sit-down restaurants we’ve been to. I have to agree, as I’ve said it’s on our favorite list too!
